If they wanted to increase their learning and become full of wisdom and understanding about life and living with God and others, they would have to listen intently, focusing their eyes on the teacher and their ears upon the teacher’s words.
He wants us to obey our teachers and principals and librarians and coaches all of the time…and not gripe about it. But instead, He wants us to obey with an eager and cheerful attitude. That kind of obedience is going to be rewarded, not only by our teachers and our parents, but by our God.
New teachers….new rooms….new kids…new courses…new bullies…and maybe it’s a brand new school…now all of that can be very scary to us.
You need the kind of friends who look to help others instead of the kind that just want to be first all the time. So how do you make those kinds of friends this year? By being that kind of friend.
Jesus made it through all the different days of his life on earth by love. And so can you this school year. Whether it is a good day or a not so good day, you decide to love others that day…especially your family and your teachers.
It’s verses like Philippians 1:21 that turn the profound into the simple…even for a child going back to school.
Special helpers are the kind of students that will take on any task that their teacher would trust them with regardless of reward or recognition.
